ORIGINS OF ECLECTIC
The best music
must be shared.
Eclectic Mix Lists began with an obsession over curating the best tracks I found—and transformed into a collaborative experience I could only have dreamed of.
WHERE IT STARTED
My dad, FIP Radio
and a wider world.
Growing up, my dad played FIP Radio ↗. The French internet radio knows how to transition seamlessly from classical to classic hip-hop, electronic trance all the way to worldly sitars, without batting an eye. None of the industry-controlled billboard hits. It was one of the most genuinely eclectic stations I had ever heard, and I wanted to collect nearly every song.
That discovery taught me to trust quality over categories—and to notice how expert curation can make unfamiliar music feel like it was waiting for you the whole time.
THE OBSESSION
We all know a gem
when we hear it.
I love all genres, but the real obsession is harder to name: the song that stops you mid-task so you can send it to two friends—or ten. The album you can’t stop playing. The artist you will go see anywhere and tell everyone about.
Those are the gems. Not a genre, not an industry-sellout popularity contest—just genuine musical creations with enough originality to transcend the boxes we’ve put music into for so long.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT
One playlist became a project powered by friends—and strangers.
The first Eclectic Radio was just me for a long time—until I realized I had friends sharing gems too, and wanted to expand beyond FIP.
So I made the playlist collaborative. Friends added the tracks catching their ears. Friends of friends joined. People who’ve never met began recognizing each other’s humanity and similarity through pure taste and passion.
